Join us for the 13th Annual TOUR DE COAL!

The Tour de Coal is an annual 11-mile float trip from Tornado to St. Albans sponsored by the Coal River Group.

This event is a fundraiser that helps fund the CRG's river cleanups, restoration, and education activities.

Friday, June 16, 2017: Tour de Coal Pre-Registration Party kicks off at 4pm at the CRG River Center! Come out to Meadowood Park to register for the Tour de Coal, pick up your t-shirts, and attend our Beginner's Kayaking Workshop in Pettigrew Lake from 2-4pm. Pre-registration ends at 7:30pm.

Saturday, June 17, 2016: The TOUR DE COAL begins at 10am in Meadowood Park. Saturday registration opens at 8am. Come to Meadowood Park first to drop off your kayak, and stop by the CRG River Center cabin to check in (unless you came Friday to the earlybird check-in). Then you'll take your vehicle back to Gateway Shopping Center in St. Albans and ride one of our courtesy shuttles back to the start at Meadowood Park.

Early-bird Registration - $20 per person

Registration on July 17 - $25 per person

Additional t-shirts - $15 each

**Please note:The Tour de Coal is a fundraising event. Your registration fee is a charitable donation to the Coal River Group and is not refundable.

Registration:

There are several ways you can register for the Tour de Coal:

  • Mail in your signed Registration Form and payment for each participant to: Coal River Group, PO Box 363, St. Albans, WV 25177. (Note: We must receive your registration by Thursday, June 16.)
  • Bring your signed Registration Form and payment to the CRG River Center. We are open Mon-Fri from 8:30am to 4pm
  • Come register in person at our Pre-Registration Event at the CRG River Center on Friday, June 16 from 4--7:30pm.
  • Register on Saturday morning (June 17) at the CRG River Center.

Need a boat? Coal River Kayak has rentals for the Tour de Coal.
