Dartmont Park is a 10-acre park in the Boone County.
The park, located on the Big Coal River in Ashford, was renovated and expanded in 2011. After years of disrepair, CRG Big Coal Branch member Teresa Perdue spearheaded efforts to revive the park for her community.
As a result of her efforts, the CRG and Boone County Commission worked with the Penn Virginia Operation Company to donate a 10-acre tract of land adjacent to the existing park. Two new picnic shelters and a playground were added, giving Boone County a new park and riverfront walking trail.
Dartmont also features a public access boat launch site to the Coal River Water Trail on the B-4 section of the Big Coal.
