The Coal River Group is involved with many restoration projects on the Coal Rivers. Currently the CRG is involved with the WVDEP 319 grant program to repair and replace failing septic systems on the Browns Creek and Angel Fork tributaries. The CRG provides funding for homeowners to replace their failing systems. This is a huge advancement toward our clean water goals for our stream !

Since 2004 the CRG has been cleaning up the Coal River in major ways. Thousands of tires have been removed in the last 15 years and progress is still being made on the river! The REAP program has been our big contributor and lifeline when it comes to tire and trash clean-ups. Have you seen the iconic green trash bags? Yep, that's the REAP program with WVDEP. With their help CRG continuously has volunteers pulling trash bags and tires out of the Coal.
